    orange Cleaning up user database

I've been doing a little spring cleaning among you users.

290 spammers who made it into the database and weren't caught by the initial pruning before moderating registrations have been deleted.

5093 members who haven't logged into the site in 730 days or more, with less than 1 post (0) have been deleted.

869 members who haven't logged into the site in 364 days or more, with less than 1 post (0) have been deleted.

This effectively takes our registered members number from 9,941 to 3,979

Wow! That's called pruning. It is amazing how many spammers try to use web forums for their spam. Too bad we still get it in our e-mail. :/

It's nice to see these kinds of clean ups. I love the site, gonna roll me up a cleric once I get my new gaming system on Thursday.

BTW How did you guys get those avatars, those little Game Cards? I tried for hours last night and couldn't find them.

Jarvis used to make them for people that donated $10.00 or more to keep the site up and running. I have no idea if he still does them.

I thought the figure (3,979) was interesting. I wonder how many players are left in EQ today in 2007. 25,000 perhaps? Well, I am glad that the board got cleaned. Many thanks, Jarvis.

Last I heard EQ still has about a million active accounts across their servers... Still a pretty substantial income which explains why the game is still being developed and re-designed.

Yeah, now if they could just leave our newbie zones alone...

Does anybody have screen shots of the "new" newbie zones? Like Commonlands, Desert of Ro etc?
